About Professor Puzzle 252 Piece Jigsaws

Professor Puzzle are a British company, founded by Ben Meldrum and based in Twickenham. Inspired by brainteasers being sold on the streets of Kolkata, their products were first sold on London market stalls under the names of ‘Ben’s Baffling Brainbenders’, before taking the name Professor Puzzle in 2002. They have since expanded into other games. Many of their products are still created from traditional wood and metal, and often centre around the familiar 19th c. British fictional characters Sherlock Holmes and Alice in Wonderland.

Professor Puzzle, therefore, started out making brainteasers, and so, despite their name, it was only in 2020 that they entered the jigsaw puzzle market with their 'Jigsaw Library' range. Launched initially with seven titles, three more were added in 2021 and more are on the way. A 'novel' concept, one might say, the jigsaws themselves are double-sided, with an illustration on one side and text from the book on the other, and they also look very handsome just arranged on a shelf!
